What we do
ScrapCarWala gives quotes, arranges pickups and helps with the paperwork for scrapping vehicles. We are not a scrapping facility and not a government body. Vehicles are scrapped by government-registered vehicle scrapping facilities (RVSFs) that we work with. The facility issues the Certificate of Deposit and the Certificate of Vehicle Scrapping, and updates VAHAN.
Quotes
We share your price on a call, based on the details you give us and on current scrap prices. The final price is confirmed before pickup, once we have seen the vehicle or its photos. It can change if the vehicle’s condition is different from what was described, or if major parts are missing.
Your responsibilities
- You are the registered owner, or you have the owner’s written authority.
- The documents you give us are genuine.
- You tell us about any loan, legal case or other hold on the vehicle. Vehicles on loan can only be scrapped once the bank’s hypothecation is removed.
- You remove personal belongings and the FASTag before pickup.
Payment
You are paid by bank transfer, as agreed before pickup, into an account in the registered owner’s name.
Certificates and deregistration
Timelines for certificates and for the registration to be cancelled depend on the scrapping facility and on VAHAN. We follow up on your behalf until they’re done.
Tax concessions
Concessions on road tax and registration fees are set by state governments and can change. We share this information in good faith, but we can’t guarantee any concession. See our Certificate of Deposit guide.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time before pickup at no cost.
Partner referrals
Referral fees are agreed in writing when you join, and are paid only for vehicles that are scrapped through us. If more than one partner refers the same vehicle, the first referral counts.
Liability
We are responsible for the service we provide. We are not responsible for delays caused by government systems, by the scrapping facility, or by missing or incorrect documents.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts at Chandigarh.
